Honda TV advert plane crashes

Published on 03 June 2008 in Model news:

The plane used for last week's live Honda television commercial has crashed, killing two people.

The Swiss-built Pilatus PC-6 aeroplane was carrying 10 skydivers and one crew member when it lost a wing and crashed near Lillo airfield, south of Madrid. The pilot and one skydiver were killed in the crash, and four other passengers were injured.

The incident was unrelated to any of Honda's activities, and nobody involved in the advert was on the plane when the crash happened.

During the live, three-minute commercial broadcast last week, a team of skydivers formed each letter in the company's name.

Honda issued a statement, saying, 'No-one in the plane was in any way connected with Honda or with the company's advertising shoot. Honda extends its sincerest condolences to the families of the two people killed.'

There are no reports on what caused the plane's wing to come loose.
