It’s not so long ago that the words ‘Hybrid’ and ‘Roadster’ sat together about as comfortably as ‘Naturism’ and ‘Paintballing’ yet on the Honda stand we’re presented with not one half-electric sports car, but two.
Sitting alongside the CR-Z coupe first shown in Tokyo is this, the Honda OSM or Open Study Model.
It’s a lightweight two-seater that aims to offer the looks and driving enjoyment of a sports car with the environmentally-friendliness of a hybrid.
Well is certainly looks suitably shark-like even if it is more basking shark thn great white.
But quite how the front-wheel-drive, hybrid OSM would compare to the existing rear-wheel-drive, 240bhp S2000 in terms of driving thrills remains to be seen.
Currently there aren’t any plans to put the OSM into production although Honda is keen know what you think and if you like it, who knows, you could well be looking at the next S2000.
