You want fun and low emissions? Nearly there with the 118D, but have a look at its sibling: the BMW 123D - over 200bhp, 45-50mpg (real world) and 138g emissions. That's one for the eco-petrolhead...

How do the Prius & Polo Bluemotion get onto a list that says Green cars don't have to be boring? They lead the pack in putting customers off buying green cars. Smart, MINI, BMW 118 yes but most of the others??? A list doesn't have to go up to 10 just for the sake of it. Top Gear would struggle to get to 4 or 5.
Both their 1 litre cars are pretty bad. The Agila boots out 134 grams and the Corsa is about 137 of the bad stuff. Hard to be impressed as Daihatsu offers their Sirion that manages 118 for a not bad car, though watch your knees on the steering column. That's recently gone on sale as a Subaru Justy, at a wolloping premium over the Daihatsu.
