I'm not the type of weirdo who derives pleasure from watching crash tests on you tube, but I did happen to stumble across this shocking footage of Brilliance's new BS6 model being tested. I'm all for cars being made cheaper and more accessible but if the result is this level of incompetence, I think you have to question the morals.

China
I don’t think I’ll ever forget my time in Shanghai. The juxtaposition of Bentleys, Ferraris and Porsches driving downtown is such a spectacle, but an upsetting one when you consider the majority of streets are still brimming with ‘floating population’ migrants and carry the stench of abject poverty.

For me, it’s as big a cultural shock as the financial dichotomy is broad. Yet Shanghai’s nouveau riche seem happy to continue adopting the western lifestyle without so much as a flinch, possessing the grandiose short-sightedness some self-obsessed western urbanites have been cultivating for years.
I suppose that’s what makes Shanghai such an exciting, confusing, upsetting, frustrating, difficult but ultimately wonderful place to be in. Come my next visit, I expect the social climate will have changed again. Let’s just hope it will be for the benefit of all 16.7 million inhabitants and not just a fortunate few.
